When Catherine messaged Fergus for the first time, he literally thought it was a scam. This beautiful lady was too good to be true!
What I know about Fergus and Catherine is that they are so appreciative that they found one another and know that their Faith brought them together. The words spoken yesterday were all about two people meeting at the right time and really it was love at first sight (after he worked out she was a real person and not a scammer ;)).
I met Fergus years ago when he was officiating a wedding and since then we’ve done a few weddings together. I was so flattered he and Catherine chose me to capture their day. After seeing how much they exuded love and joy at their engagement session, I was so excited to capture all this good stuff at their wedding.
When I arrived at Fergus’s house he was recording his vows for James from JNCC Films. I had to be quiet so I just listened to his words and had a little tear in my eye. So heartfelt, and so genuinely happy.
The ceremony started with a beautiful lady walking down the aisle. This is Catherine’s Great Aunt Nancy who is 100 years old and boy she did not look it! The Best Man Hartley is Fergus’s brother who did the most brilliant job marrying them. The warmth he and the rest of Fergus’s family has for him was just so clear. The same with Catherine, her family overjoyed that she’s found her soul mate.
The reception was great fun and Fergus got the party started as he surprised Catherine with a fabulous drum solo as soon as they came in. The guests were up out of their chairs and wow! He really knows how to play!
Oh and quickest table photos ever. The challenge was for me to get them done in one song. We got everyone up ready and Catherine and Fergus ran around to each table to get a photo and I have to say – I think I got it done in half the song – go me. Hats off to a fabulous MC Glenn who is a personal friend of Fergus. He ran the night to a T.
Congratulations Fergus and Catherine. Thank you for having me – it’s been an honour.
