The Carriage House of Chateau Elan was where Cassie and Matt tied the knot…

I’m a big fan of weddings that are seamlessly held in one location. Chateau Elan, located in the Hunter Valley, is an exceptional venue choice. With its ample accommodation options, it becomes an ideal selection for couples. The convenience of having guests stay on-site adds that extra touch of convenience. Matt and Cassie stayed in the Grand Mecure Lodges, which are absolutely gorgeous, nice and bright and over looking the golf course. Two houses side by side made it so easy to go between the two. What a fun way to spend a couple of nights before the wedding with your family and friends. 

I was there early so I checked out their reception held in The Barrington Room which was being transformed into a floral masterpiece by Darlene and her team from ‘Peonies Boutique Weddings’ and all I can say is WOW!  It was a fabulous sight, a display of lush greenery cascading from the ceiling. The table centrepieces were an array of white floral arrangements, the entry of the Carriage House, it all looked so elegant. 

After some time with the boys and thankfully their photographer knows how to put buttonholes on because like most weddings, the guys have no clue. I get the ‘where do these go?’ question all the time as they hold up a little flower and a pin. 

I headed over to Cass who was in the midst of having her makeup done, her dress with it’s sparkly detail was amazing with its long train, she looked stunning. 

It was great to see Celebrant Victoria Langham again, and after she got these two married, the new Mr and Mrs Brown, headed out to be congratulated by their family and friends and we took those all important family pics.

What I love about the Carriage House is that it is nestled beside majestic gum trees, creating a picturesque atmosphere with winter afternoon sun that I know is perfect for photos. We had the option of heading around the course, however it was so pretty where we were so we stayed put. 

Such a great night with MC Brett, who I hear was picked up when Matt and Cassie went to one of his trivia nights, the Baker Boys Band kicked off the party and created an atmosphere that had everyone in high spirits, some really heartfelt speeches, the sound of guests chatting and laughing and enjoying each others company – what a perfect day.
