Josh & Tenika’s Dream Micro Wedding: A Secret Garden Celebration Full of Love, Laughter, and Sweet Moments

Celebrate love in the most intimate way, surrounded by your nearest and dearest, and you create a day that’s nothing short of perfect—especially in our secret garden. Tenika and Josh did just that!

With only immediate family and their closest friends, the atmosphere was relaxing, joyful and filled with emotion. Every detail of the day was thoughtfully chosen to reflect Josh and Tenika’s love story. Especially with their adorable cavoodle, Obi. He proudly stole the show in his mini tuxedo as the ring bearer. Two weddings in a row and I’ve been loving capturing these gorgeous pups on their ring bearer missions!

A Ceremony to Remember

Tenika was escorted to Josh by her proud Dad, and it was easy to see how emotional everyone was. I could sense the stifled tears from Josh and Tenika, but not only that, Tenika looked an absolute vision, and I could also see Mum thinking this very thing too.

The ceremony took place where the view of the Secret Garden can be truly appreciated. Fiona Rogers—who not only officiated the ceremony but also created flawless hair and makeup for Tenika and her gang—led a heartfelt and personal service. Our Dream Micro Weddings at Our Secret Garden have been home to some truly beautiful and love-filled ceremonies. It is such an honour to capture it. Yufei, Fiona and myself feel so lucky to meet the most wonderful couples.

Laughter, Tears, and Everything in Between

After the ceremony, guests were treated to a delicious grazing table thanks to Rebecca from Grazing for all Occasions—overflowing with cheeses, fresh fruit, crackers, breads, dips – I could go on! This was followed by a high tea at the lotus lodge. Tenika and Josh added their personal touch of green bows for the chairs and individual wooden name tags. Also a poloroid camera and guest signing book. To top it off the most sweetest sentiments written from her young students talking about what love means to them.

Music, Snaps, and Reenacted Memories

After the all important family photos, it was time for bridal party fun, followed by photos of these two Duolingo lovers! Side note here – how pretty are these bridemaids dresses! The soft pink and yellow tones looked absolutely stunning against Charly from Life with Petals’ gorgeous florals. I love that Tenika not only had a maid of honour but a man of honour as well. Definitely a lot of love in these friendships.

Adding to the atmosphere of the day was Lilee, our amazing wedding singer. Softly singing in the background, she adds such a sweet vibe to the day. Tenika had given me a list of photos she wanted with certain groups of friends and yes I had to call out to ‘The Bitches’ and ‘The unimpressed’ group and also traditional reannacted shots with friends. What a fun group!

During the high tea, there wasn’t a dry eye in sight—partly from laughter from good mates, and partly from the beautiful words shared by proud parents. Josh and Tenika both paying tribute to their parents, and it was so lovely to witness what great relationships they have with their families. Tenika’s sister Mikayla delivered a heartfelt, tear-jerking speech about what her sister means to her. Pass the tissues…
