Christie & Matt’s Caves Coastal Bar and Bungalows Wedding | A Dreamy Caves Beach Celebration

It was the perfect spring day for a Caves Beach wedding, and Christie and Matt’s celebration at Coastal Bar and Bungalows was full of laughter, emotion, and bridal party shenanigans.

Getting Ready in the Coastal Villas

The morning began in the light and airy villas at Caves Coastal Bar and Bungalows, where both bridal parties got ready on site. Filled with natural light (photographers dream).

I started with the boys who were having a couple of drinks, and a collective struggle with their ties. Lots of laughs amongst these mates.

Just across the way, Christie was getting glamoured with her girls. Each of her bridesmaids had a different bouquet, and together they looked stunning, each one unique but perfectly tied together in the coastal tones of the day. Her dress hung on the window and it was absolutely stunning! More so when she got into it. Those lace sleeves and cathedral veil, just a vision. The photos of her and her Mini Me Ivie are the sweetest. She did a beautiful job as flowergirl.

Amongst the fun and a few funny TikToks, there was a special and emotional moment when Christie shared cards with her parents. As she hugged her mum and dad and said “you are the best parents”, there wasn’t a dry eye in the room, including mine. Her first look with her dad and bridesmaids was another highlight, full of tears, smiles, and pure joy.

A Heartfelt Caves Beach Ceremony

Their ceremony took place outdoors on the boardwalk at Coastal Bar and Bungalows, overlooking the  ocean. Christie’s friend and work colleague, Love Stories by Jess, officiated , adding a personal, heartfelt touch to the day.

Their son, Isaac, had other plans for his big aisle debut and decided he’d rather sit with the guests instead.

After the ceremony, and some photos in the greenery, we headed to the beach – something that was especially important to Christie and Matt. The beach has always been a part of their story.

We also had a fun champagne pop moment with the bridal party and on editing these photos, the bottle took a ride into the air. It’s those candid shots that truly tell the story of the day, the kind of natural wedding photography I love most.

A Fun-Filled Coastal Bar and Bungalows Reception

Their friend, who took on the role of MC, loved the microphone, maybe a little too much ;). Mike from Fifth Whisky Band who played during the ceremony, continued on as DJ. Great to meet him! A lovely guy and he sounds awesome.

Christie and Matt’s first dance was one to remember, maybe slightly risky! It was a miracle Matt didn’t drop Christie on the floor, and looking at these photos, she’s practically horizontal! How he recovered from that I’ll never know.

We snuck away for a night time photo under the glowing Caves sign, a great opportunity for Christie and Matt to get some fresh air before continuing to party the night away. And let me tell ya, this crowd was all in!

A Coastal Wedding to Remember

Christie and Matt’s Caves Beach wedding was everything a coastal celebration should be, plenty of laughs and good times. The Coastal Bar and Bungalows was the perfect venue for their day, especially for people who love the ocean vibe.

It was such a joy to capture every moment for them ,from the laughter-filled morning to the lovely ceremony, and the epic dance floor that followed. This is what Coastal Bar and Bungalows photography is all about natural, emotional storytelling in one of the most stunning seaside locations.
