From L Plates to Soulmates: Lachie & Kersha’s Hunter Valley wedding at Rydges Resort was all fun, love, and confetti.

Every wedding has its own story, but this one began in the most unexpected of places , the RTA. Yes, you read that right. Forget the dating apps, Lachie and Kersha’s love story kicked off while trying to get their L’s. They saw each other, however Lachie forgot his birth certificate and had to go home and come back. Lucky for Lach, Kersha was still there when he returned as she failed her test!

Getting Ready at Rydges Resort Hunter Valley

The boys kicked off the day with a few cheeky beers in one of the villas at Rydges Resort Hunter Valley. Lots of banter and laughs with these guys. Lachie and Kersha’s gorgeous little girl, Charli, joined for some photos and  shared a moment that just about melted me behind the camera. That look on her face as she hugged her dad! Eyes closed and a big smile. This little sweetheart has big love for her Mummy and Daddy. Oh and that red hair!

Meanwhile, over with the girls, Kersha and her bridesmaids were looking absolutely stunning! Little Charli joined here too for photos with her Mum. In the sweetest moment, Kersha gifted Charli a necklace. She was so curious, looking and touching it. She got into full flower girl mode tossing petals into the air.

A Ceremony with Colour and Emotion

The ceremony took place under a stunning triangular arbor, covered with vibrant blooms by the talented ladies of Edwards & Day. How I love vibrant florals. It’s lovely to see colour making a comeback after a lot of neutrals the last few years.  Fiona Hall, their wonderful celebrant, had it all under control. Calming a slightly nervous groom. And then, just as everyone was waiting for the bride, little Charli made her appearance with Aunty Sharna and after some hesitation made her way to her proud Dad.

Lachie tried to keep it together, but let’s be honest, he was tearing up as he watched Kersha walk across the lawn. Why wouldn’t he! She looked absolutely stunning. Their RTA love story was retold, and before long, the two were walking back down the aisle as husband and wife… stopping for a cheeky dip kiss and an epic confetti cannon explosion.

Hunter Valley Photographer Heaven with Golden Hour

After the “I dos,” I got these two to stand in an ants nest for photos (unknowingly!) Oops. But the trade off was a line of beautiful trees so my little ant bite was worth it. We followed this with a golf buggy ride, epic hunter valley golden hour portraits, a cigar for the boys and a spray of champa’s. The bridal party were absolute legends, fun, easygoing, and full of energy, making me one very happy hunter valley wedding photographer!
