Circa 1876 Restaurant The Convent Hunter Valley Wedding: 23.4.22

Did someone say ‘ Scotland, Kilt’s, bagpipers, Llama’s, fireworks, and a whole lot of fun??

Well that’s exactly what Christie and Glenn’s wedding was all about at Circa 1876. Bringing some family heritage into their day. Glenn’s father was born in Edinburgh and was going to wear and a kilt and not to be upstaged by his Dad – it was kilt’s all round.

I shot alongside Bella and Rob from Bella Photo Art who was on video and I’m so excited to see some footage of this day. Everyone was in such great spirits, their sweet little girl Alice was adorable in her flower girl dress along with flower girl Freya and two very handsome page boys also in kilts.

Peppers Convent is gorgeous to photograph.

The convent with its bold colour and fountain out the front, the tree lined road with the autumn leaves coming through and the historic building of Circa 1876 especially the library makes you wonder what it was like back in the day. The boys shared a whisky here (it’s not a Scottish wedding without a whisky).

The bridesmaid’s dresses were one of the prettiest shades of green I think I’ve ever seen – I’m such a lover of colour. I like to keep my editing to show just how wonderful these colours looked in real life.

Christie looked absolutely stunning and was such a pleasure to photograph with her gorgeous smile, and that dress! Oh and ‘It has pocket’s!’

The ceremony was conducted by Mary Anderson and of course she is Scottish who did a fabulous job and instead of exchanging rings it was a hand fasting.

We were all treated to two beautiful llama’s who were so extremely tame and let everyone give them a pat. We took them for a little walk for our bridal party photos.

After a reception of fun, great speeches, and lots of dancing, Brendon from Advantage Dj’s had the dance floor pumping – the night literally went off with a bang and a show of some absolutely amazing fireworks.

This wedding as you can tell was absolutely beautiful. But despite all of these wonderful things, it’s the people that make a wedding the day it is. Loving family and friends, a happy couple and an amazing bridal party who just smiled the whole day.

It was a massive day but I know these guys had the most brilliant time!
