As you look through these images you will notice there is no ceremony photos and that’s because these guys didn’t let Covid stop them from marrying on their original wedding date last year. This time it was their big wedding celebration and it went off with a bang.
Every photographer will tell you we feel like we’re competing with the clock on a wedding day. So much to squeeze in, so many images to capture, wanting to do the best job for our couples but you also need the balance of letting the couple enjoy the day without them feeling like it was all about ‘getting photos’. Because Jess and Harry were already married, they got ready together and we did bridal party photos before the reception that was happening a bit later in the day. It got me thinking how I wish more couples would do a ‘first look’ and how having your photos before the ceremony might allow some people to feel less nervous for the ceremony and also they have already done the majority of the photos and have more time with their guests. In Jess and Harry’s case, we did some photos out in the paddock later in the day as I knew the light would be at it’s most prettiest. They had time to get photos with everyone and plenty of time to just take in the day and celebrate.
Jess and Harry – congratulations on your 1 year anniversary and your beautiful wedding celebration. I think some of these are some of my favourite photos to date. You all had a wonderful time, danced, frolicked (Jess!), and let your love and happiness show. You appreciated every person that celebrated with you.
Thanks for having me be a part of your wedding journey.
