Last night driving home from Rob and Jen’s wedding I was thinking about what an absolutely brilliant day I’d had with these guys.
Even after only meeting yesterday, I honestly felt we’d known each other longer! I loved that they took it in their stride. Like clockwork the rain came as the bridesmaids were walking down the aisle, we were unsure if Jen was coming too but then she appeared and walked down the aisle with her Dad in the rain – so we all went ahead. People become so fixated on nice weather for their special day – I get this, I really do, but sometimes it’s the uncertainty’s, the unexpected that make weddings that little bit more memorable. For Rob and Jen, I know they’ll remember how it rained during their ceremony, and maybe how the bridal party, Rob’s Dad and the photographer with all her gear (me), huddled under one umbrella on Caves Beach until the next downpour passed. I know how happy Jen was just to be able to get photos at the beach.
I guess what I’m getting at is – things don’t always go to plan, don’t get caught up in this – Rob and Jen still get married, surrounded by their family and friends, had an awesome day and even in some parts where they got pretty wet – they still looked amazing and I know that everyone there had a great day.
Thanks to Fiona Rogers who did hair and make up and was also their celebrant – it was a tough situation in the rain and even though Fiona was pretty saturated herself – her ceremony was just as beautiful as always.
Congratulations Rob and Jen – it was a lovely day and a pleasure to be there xxx
