An Ocean Beach Surf Life Saving Club Wedding

Photographing a wedding as wonderful as Richard and Ashley’s is a very special task.

Pure Joy! The love these two have for each other and the love that wraps around them by their family and friends is a blessing.

It seems more appropriate to share the words of Mum, Lorraine.

“Richard and Ash met in high school. They became best friends when Richard was in Year 7 and Ashley in Year 9. They started dating 12 years ago and have lived together for 6 years. They have many interests together, one in particular their love of their beloved NRL team, The Rabbitohs. They make friends wherever they go and really have a wonderful life together. Richard and Ash are so excited and looking forward to a fun day surrounded by their close friends and family. The day will be informal and filled with joy as they are loved by many”.

This explains these two absolutely brilliantly, and the love by many was apparent with a huge guest list, and of course the tributes to their favourite football team.

It felt like the whole crowd’s hearts and souls lit up when these two walked down the aisle separately with their parents. Here I was trying to concentrate on getting the shots while fighting back my own tears, especially looking at the beaming smile from Richard’s Mum Benny as she looked oh so happy and proud. Ash walked down the aisle and upon seeing Richard who was quite emotional, she yelled out ‘Love you, Richie’. The ceremony was made extra special with Ashley’s Aunty Bronwyn being the one who got these two married!

The most brilliant time was had by all, and truly a wonderful day. A big thank you was made during Ash’s speech to thank the parents for their beautiful wedding. Ash and Richard very clearly have so much support in their lives.

A shout-out to Megan from Material Girlz for the dazzling surf club. It looked tremendous!

As I go through their images I’m reminded – if only we all had Richard and Ashley’s confidence and enjoy life as much as Rich and Ash, we would all be a whole lot happier.
