Kookaburra Hideaway Hunter Valley Wedding

Luke and Amy’s wedding at the charming Kookaburra Hideaway Hunter Valley.

I get excited to shoot at venues I haven’t been to before. I always have a Google however it’s never how I picture it and one of the reasons I’m super early to weddings is so I can check it all out.

First up I met Kal – Kookaburra Hideaway’s amazing wedding planner and my new mate! haha. Seriously, every venue needs a friendly, hardworking planner like her who wants to make sure the couple has the best day.  The venue has a peaceful country atmosphere with awesome views, the reception “Wedding Shed” is full of character with indoor/outdoor area’s, and is perfect for couples looking for a more casual laid laid-back vibe.

Amy and Luke have such a sweet love story and you can’t help but feel proud for this young couple. High school sweethearts, and three gorgeous kids later, here they are – marrying after being together for ten years. Their eldest Son said he was so excited and when I asked him what he was most excited about he looked at his Mum and said ‘Mum having the same last name’…. well I nearly cried. I really hope Amy and Luke know what an amazing job they are doing. It’s not easy being parents so young and these two are doing brilliantly with their sweet kids.

The day, although a tad windy, we had lots of laughs on their bridal party shoot and Amy Luke and I squeezed our way through the fence to get to the next paddock as I had to get pics with that beautiful sky and views.

The reception kicked off with a beer shot, followed by speeches and plenty of Photo Booth shenanigans, photos with guests, dancing and a few sparklers.

What a brilliant day it was for The Goldsworthy’s – congratulations Amy and Luke!
