Congratulations to James and Emma who tied the knot at the stunning Kangy Gardens on a windy spring day. These two met playing in the under 11’s soccer and although James was a year younger, I was told by his Mum he skipped a year and ended up in the same year as Emma. They went to the same high school and were good mates – one of those situations where their friends were just waiting for them to officially get together because they all knew it was gonna happen – and it did, right after schoolies.
Yesterday was wonderful – despite some nasty gale force winds, we were somewhat protected at Kangy Gardens – and thankfully the venue has a really nice chapel for the ceremony. By the time the ceremony was done, the winds really had settled and we got lots of pics with family and friends and bridal party photos. The vibe was so relaxed, canapés and grazing tables, sit inside the marquee or outside and enjoy the spring weather. With live music playing, the sounds of laughter of conversation – it was a perfect day.
I have to admit – I may have got a little watery eyed as I photographed James as he was waiting for Emma to appear at the end of the aisle. As I was leaving I was having a chat with his Mum who told me that she has always told her children – there is strength in showing emotion and crying. I honestly couldn’t agree more. Why hold it in? Sometimes a moment means so much that you can’t hold back the tears and these are the moments I absolutely love to capture with my camera.
